Wheat middle and late management of peanuts

Wheat often forms a symbiotic relationship with peanuts during the early growth stage of the latter. However, this can lead to nutrient deficiencies in the wheat itself, poor root development, and weak plant growth. As a result, it's crucial to implement enhanced management practices in the mid to late stages to ensure better growth and yield. Here are some specific measures: First, after harvesting wheat, it's important to remove the stubble promptly and apply additional fertilizers. In general fields, you can dig trenches between the ridges and apply 2500–3000 kg of organic manure per 667 square meters, along with 25–30 kg of ammonium bicarbonate and 30–40 kg of phosphate. For fields that are particularly deficient in potassium, add 10–15 kg of potassium sulfate per 667 square meters. After applying the fertilizer, make sure to cover it with soil. Second, manage irrigation wisely by following the principle of "smart watering." After fertilizing, if there's no rain, water the field immediately to avoid fertilizer burn and evaporation. During the flowering, podding, and fruiting stages, pay close attention to drought conditions. Symptoms of water stress include slight leaf wilting in the afternoon. Peanuts are especially sensitive to water during the flowering period—lack of water at this time can significantly reduce yield. Always monitor the plants carefully for signs of dryness. Third, use foliar sprays to prevent premature aging. As peanut plants grow, their root absorption capacity may weaken. To maintain plant health, apply a foliar spray of 0.2–0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution or a 2–3% superphosphate leaching solution in August and September. This helps support the plant’s growth and prolongs its productive life. In addition, regular monitoring and timely treatment of pests and diseases such as leaf spot, aphids, cutworms, and bollworms are essential to protect the crop from damage and ensure a successful harvest.
