I like this place
Today, I found myself daydreaming about two tiny bundles of joy running wild along a shore where the sky is painted in soft blues and whites, meeting the calm, jade-green waters of the Gulf lapping against powdery white sands. It’s a place I love deeply. Over the last week, my spouse and I have been searching high and low for a home in our future city—a place that feels both affordable and comfortable for our family. Balancing affordability with comfort has proven to be quite the challenge. We’ve walked countless streets, toured several homes, and debated endlessly over what we truly need versus what we can actually afford. Today, while waiting for some important calls, responses to messages, and final decisions on certain offers, we decided to take a drive across a bridge connecting our new area to a nearby island. Exploring felt like the perfect distraction from the stress of decision-making. As we approached the bridge, its elegant cables stretching across the horizon came into view. Habitually, I reached behind me for my camera to capture some shots—but alas, I realized mid-reach that the memory card was missing. Disappointed but not deterred, I let my imagination take over, deciding instead to burn these moments into my memory forever. And who knows? Maybe my phone would come in handy for a few quick snaps. Oh, how I miss my little ones! The chaos of bath times—water flying everywhere, giggles bouncing off the bathroom tiles—are such cherished memories. Then there are those serene mornings when they wake up groggy-eyed, still half-asleep, yet somehow manage to snuggle in ways that make my heart swell. Those moments are priceless. But life moves forward, and soon enough, we’ll be creating new memories here by the sea. I can already picture afternoons spent watching dolphins leap gracefully in the distance, hearing excited exclamations from curious kids pointing at them. That kind of connection with nature is something we’re all looking forward to experiencing together. I like this place. A lot. All images included in this post were captured using an iPhone 4 without any editing or filters applied. Writing this makes me reflect on how life changes so rapidly sometimes. One moment, you're settling into a rhythm that feels permanent, and then suddenly, everything shifts. Whether it's moving to a new city, welcoming new family members, or simply adapting to daily routines, change is inevitable. Yet despite its unpredictability, there's beauty in embracing each transition fully. As I continue exploring this island today, I realize just how much I appreciate moments like these—simple yet profound. They remind me to pause, breathe, and soak in the present before rushing ahead to whatever comes next. After all, isn't that what living well is all about?
