Clinical trials have shown that siniton is effective in relieving pain in patients with chronic prostatitis

August 10, 2009 – New research published this week confirms that Shentong has shown significant improvement in clinical symptoms for patients suffering from chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS), a common and complex condition characterized by genital pain and lower urinary tract issues. The National Institutes of Health categorizes prostatitis into several types, with type III being the most prevalent. Due to its multifactorial nature, conducting solid evidence-based studies on CP/CPPS has been challenging. A recent phase III clinical trial led by Wagenlehner et al. at Giessen University in Germany involved 139 male participants with CP/CPPS. The study was a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial lasting 12 weeks. Patients were divided into two groups: seven received Shentong treatment, while 69 were given a placebo. Researchers assessed the effectiveness of Shentong through evaluations of pain levels, quality of life, and NIH-CPSI scores. The results showed that patients treated with Shentong experienced a significant reduction in pain and other key symptoms compared to those in the placebo group. Additionally, the treatment was well-tolerated, with only a low incidence of adverse events reported. These findings suggest that Shentong may offer a promising therapeutic option for individuals suffering from this often frustrating and difficult-to-treat condition. Meditech Medical Network
