It helps regulate blood sugar levels, making it ideal for diabetics, and may also assist in lowering blood pressure and improving metabolism. Unlike artificial sweeteners like saccharin, which have been linked to potential health risks, stevia is considered safe and even beneficial. It has been used traditionally in South America for centuries and has gained global attention as a natural alternative to sugar. Despite its benefits, the development of stevia has faced challenges, including limited processing techniques and poor distribution networks.
