Captive ducks need calcium

Ducks in grazing state do not normally suffer from calcium deficiency, while the nutritional needs of captive laying ducks are entirely dependent on commercial full-priced feeds. It is necessary to maintain the egg production rate and improve the quality of eggs, in addition to satisfying protein and energy nutrition. Other needs, in particular, pay attention to calcium.
1, choose a good source of calcium calcium is more extensive, such as calcium carbonate, shells, bone meal and so on. Limestone and shells are generally used as the main sources of calcium, and they are more economical, but the proportion should be appropriate. If limestone is used, it will affect appetite and reduce calcium absorption and utilization. The ratio of stone powder and shell powder is appropriate to 2:3, plus 1% of bone powder, the smoothness of eggshell is the best.
2, 5 weeks old calcium start as long as normal development, part of the circle of laying ducks began to produce eggs around the age of 100 days, non-laying female ducks also store calcium in the bones, in order to prepare the need for egg production. If at this time still feeding in the calcium-requiring period, there is no guarantee of physiological needs, so 15 weeks of age is the best time to start calcium supplementation. Calcium should be between the young duck and the laying duck, with an appropriate rate of 2.5%, and gradually increase thereafter.
3. The best amount of calcium in each stage of egg production. A normal duck shell contains 2.92 to 3.02 grams of calcium, but the calcium in vivo retention rate is only 50% to 70%. The utilization rate of calcium in ducks is about 65. %, so the production of an egg requires calcium 4.8 ~ 5.12 grams, a reasonable calcium can reduce the egg breakage rate. If calcium in the feed is insufficient, not only soft shelled eggs or shellless eggs will appear, but also the consumption of feedstuffs will increase and feed consumption will increase, which in turn will cause fat deposition in the liver and muscles, thus seriously affecting the laying rate. Conversely, excessive supply of calcium will reduce the appetite of laying ducks and significantly affect egg production. Practice has proved that the reasonable supply of calcium to ducks is: when the egg production rate is below 65%, calcium is 2.5%; when the egg production rate is between 65% and 85%, calcium is 3%; egg production rate is over 80% At the time, calcium is 3.21% to 3.5%.

Ginseng can improve the general condition of diabetic patients, but does not change the degree of hyperglycemia. In other words, ginseng can reduce urinary sugar and blood sugar in patients with mild diabetes mellitus by 40-50 mg, which can be maintained for more than two weeks after discontinuation of medication. Although the effect of reducing blood sugar in moderate diabetes mellitus patients is not obvious, most of the general conditions have improved, such as thirst disappeared or alleviated; some patients can reduce insulin consumption after taking ginseng.
