Chicken Coccidiosis Control Measures

Chicken coccidiosis is one or more coccidia-caused chicken acute epidemic parasites. The main victims are 10-30-day-old chicks or 35-60-day-old young chickens. The mortality rate can be as high as 80%. Adult chickens generally do not develop disease, but those with insects are an important source of coccidiosis. In recent years, broiler breeding farms have occurred all the year round, causing great losses to chicken production. According to the problems existing in actual production, we will introduce some effective methods for preventing and treating the disease.

1. Environmental Hygiene While preventing and treating coccidiosis, it is necessary to maintain good environmental hygiene. 1 The chicken house should be cleaned every day, kept clean and dry, and the damp litter should be replaced in time. Sinks, troughs, cages and other utensils should be regularly cleaned and rinsed. Walls and grounds should also be sterilized with 20% lime water or 2% "suzu". Feeding management personnel should change shoes in and out of the chicken house to reduce and Killing the coccidial oocysts in the sheds and preventing their spores from developing is important for reducing the incidence of coccidiosis. 2 Generally, after the oocysts of the coccidia are excreted with the feces, it takes 1-3 days under certain conditions to develop an infective spore oocyst. Therefore, the feces in the chicken farm should be cleaned and removed on the same day or next day, and transported to the next day. In the distance, a stacking fermentation process is carried out to use the heat generated by the fermentation and ammonia gas to kill the oocysts and prevent contamination of feed and drinking water.

2. There are no obvious symptoms in adult rearing due to insects in adult chickens, and they continuously discharge coccidial oocysts, which may increase the possibility of coccidiosis in young chickens. Therefore, it is necessary to keep young chickens separately from adult chickens; Batches of chicks must also be forbidden from polyculture. It is advisable to implement a system of all-in and all-out to cut off the source of infection. During the feeding period, pay attention to the appetite, spirit, and defecation of the chicks every day. Treat the sick in time for isolation and treatment. The cured chicken can no longer rejoin the group.

3. The early detection of blood feces often does not reveal parasites, and coccidiosis has become severe when large amounts of blood feces are present. Therefore, before the appearance of blood feces, it is particularly important to be able to determine coccidiosis. The occurrence of coccidiosis can be predicted from the following three aspects: (1) The intake of coccidiosis significantly increases in the first and second days. The breeder should carefully observe during the feeding and record the daily feed intake. 2 Part of the feces of chickens has more moisture, and a few chickens have white feces. 3 More feathers fall off than normal chickens. When the above phenomenon occurs, medication should be started.

4. Drug prevention The prevention of early onset of age should be advanced, and prevention should be started earlier. From the 7th to the 9th day of age, the drug should be administered on time or in doses in feed or drinking water. 1 Because chicken coccidia is prone to drug resistance, the selection of coccidiosis drugs, whether for prevention or treatment, should be planned to change the drug species, it is best to use new drugs, so as to avoid or slow down the drug-resistant strains. Produce to improve drug efficacy and reduce the harm caused by coccidiosis. 2 The feed and feed additives currently sold on the market generally contain anticoccidial drugs. Care should be taken when using them to avoid drug poisoning caused by repeated use of drugs and causing unnecessary losses. 3 If you can't see the relief of the disease, stop it. Otherwise, you will not be able to achieve the goal of thorough treatment. Instead, it will lead to the emergence of drug-resistant strains and affect the treatment of coccidiosis in the future. (4) Loss of appetite in coccidiosis in chickens, but increased drinking desire, so the best choice for the treatment of coccidiosis water-soluble anticoccidial drugs, through the water route of administration.
