Prevention and cure of swine herbicide poisoning

At present, the use of herbicides in crops is extremely common, and human and livestock herbicide poisoning accidents occur from time to time. The herbicide poisoning of swine is mainly due to eating crops, vegetables, grasses, etc. using herbicides after feeding or feeding pigs. Therefore, it is necessary to attach importance to and master the control technology of livestock herbicide poisoning.

1. The symptoms of swine herbicide poisoning. Herbicides currently used include pre-emergent herbicides, bipylidene-based contact-killing herbicides and post-emergent herbicides. Pigs that ingest such herbicides cause poisoning, abdominal distention, vomiting, and difficulty breathing. Flow clearness, loss of appetite, vision loss and other symptoms are generally chronic. The incubation period is much longer than organophosphorus poisoning, and severe cases can also lead to death.

2. Cases and on-site treatment.

Case 1: In March 2003, the appetite of a farmer's two sows was abolished, and the body temperature was 36.8°C and 36.5°C, respectively. Frequent urination and oliguria, bloating, vomiting, a small amount of mouth phlegm, and rapid breathing were observed. The history of stocking was confirmed as bipyridinium herbicide poisoning. Immediately gavage 5 grams of pot black powder, 50 grams of magnesium sulfate and 500 milliliters of water (pay attention to preventing foreign matter from pouring into the trachea), and repeat the irrigation 2 hours or so. After 2 hours, both sows returned to normal.

Case 2: In June 2003, a 60kg pig in a farmer suffered from loss of appetite, a body temperature of 37°C, abdominal distension, runny nose with a small amount of foam, slight muscle chills in the local muscles, and unresponsive visual acuity. In the case of Roundup, 10 mg of atropine sulphate was injected. Symptoms were significantly relieved but did not subside and did not return to normal. Immediately take 5 grams of pot black powder, 50 grams of magnesium sulfate, 20 grams of acetic acid and 500 ml of water. At the same time injection of vitamin B125 mg, vitamin B1400 mg, returned to normal after 4 hours.

3, livestock owners should pay attention to prevention. All kinds of herbicides have a certain toxicity. Poisoning occurs when pigs ingest food. Therefore, the livestock owner should pay attention to prevention. First of all, pigs should not be grazing, so as to avoid weeds that spray herbicides. Second, do not feed feed that is contaminated with herbicides. Pigs should be treated promptly if they are poisoned.
