1. Materials and methods Experiments with celery were purchased from Jinan Qilipu Vegetable Market. PVC window bags are produced by the Jinan Fruit Research Institute. Oxygen and carbon dioxide were measured using an austenitic gas analyzer.
Test treatment: The test was divided into control (CK) without bagging, treatment I with 30 pounds per bag, and treatment II with 20 pounds per bag. All the celery used for the test were rooted and not washed.
2, results and analysis
2.1 The effect of PVC silicon window bag on the preservation of celery at room temperature Through experimental observation and inspection, it was found that at 0-12°C, the control group celery appeared yellow leaves on the 3rd day, and the stems were browned, which had lost the value of commodities. And food value, no matter whether it is treated I or treated II, on the 8th day of inspection, the smell in the bag is fresh, the food is fresh, and there is no water loss phenomenon. On the 11th day, the celery in the I bag is treated with carbon dioxide injury symptom, and comes from a single celery. Looking at the stem from the outside to the inside (caucasian heart direction), the degree of browning gradually reduced, the stem of the heavier browning was boiled, with a smell of decay after opening. After 11 days of storage, the freshness, color, crispiness, and taste of the celery were better than those of the I bag. The browning of the stem tissue was little, and there was acid rot in the treated I bag. In many cases, the value of goods has been significantly reduced.
2.2 The effect of gas composition on the storage of celery It is known from this experiment that at room temperature (0~12°C), when carbon dioxide is more than 7.0% and oxygen is less than 1.5%, carbon dioxide damage will occur when stored for 6 days. Delaying the chlorophyll decomposition and tissue fibrosis and senescence of celery plays a good role, which can be seen from the comparison of treatments I and II with CK. Through experiments, we have found that at room temperature (0~12°C), celery is stored under the conditions of carbon dioxide 4-6% and oxygen 2-4% for better storage effect, and the product rate is above 90%. No significant drop before storage.
2.3 Breathing characteristics of celery After harvesting celery from the ground, the respiration is very strong. It can be seen from Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 that after the celery is bagged, the carbon dioxide concentration in the bag gradually increases and the oxygen concentration drops rapidly, and it is stored on the 5th day. Treatment I and Treatment II reached the maximum CO2 concentrations of 8.0% and 6.4%, respectively, and the oxygen concentration treatment I also reached the lowest value of 1.0%. Subsequently, both the Treatment I and Treatment II carbon dioxide concentrations gradually decreased while the oxygen concentration remained at a relatively low level. Low level.
3. Summary This experiment showed that with root celery at room temperature (0 ~ 12 °C), the use of PVC window bag fresh, silicon window area of ​​7.4 square centimeters / kg, each bag of 10kg / bag is appropriate, can be stored fresh In 11 days, the preservation effect was good. The suitable gas indicators for the storage of celery are carbon dioxide 4-6% and oxygen 2-4%.
