Major export of hormone drugs

Business News Agency August 3 hearing hydrocortisone and dexamethasone are the major varieties of hormonal APIs in China. The trade volume accounted for one-third of the total export trade of hormonal APIs. According to statistics from China Customs, in the first half of 2011, the export value of hydrocortisone was US$82.626 million, which was a year-on-year increase of 34.15%. The value of dexamethasone exports was US$18.048 million, a decrease of 4.15% over the same period of last year. As the environmental protection requirements increased, the prices of upstream raw materials rose, and the export prices of hydrocortisone and dexamethasone continued to increase, with the average unit price of hydrocortisone increasing by 20.49% year-on-year.
