Low cost sources of feed

One of the biggest expenses in animal farming is feed, but how can we cut costs without sacrificing production efficiency? Finding affordable feed sources is a major concern for farmers. It makes perfect sense to turn everyday waste into valuable feed. For example, livestock manure and crop residues can be transformed into high-quality feed using specialized feed starters like the Ginba Type II. To begin, mix the raw materials in the right proportions. Add about 0.2% of the professional feed starter (such as the Golden Baby II) and thoroughly mix with water. The ideal moisture level should be around 65%. A simple way to check is by squeezing the mixture in your hand — it should form a clump but not drip. If it's too wet, it won't ferment properly. Once mixed, pack the material into a plastic bag or sealed container and let it ferment for three days. In colder weather, you may need to extend the time slightly, while in summer, one or two days might be enough. When the material turns yellowish-green, has no strong odor, and smells slightly sour, the fermentation is complete and ready for use. By using this method, what was once considered waste — like the Golden Baby II feed starter — becomes a powerful tool for producing feed on-site. This not only reduces feeding costs but also improves overall farm profitability. It’s a smart, sustainable solution that turns everyday materials into valuable resources.
