If the parents are older, the child's resilience is low.
Researchers at the University of Göttingen have found that the higher the age of the offspring of the parents, the more genetic variations will be. Based on the theory of evolutionary genetics, the researchers made predictions that parents are older and their child's ability to survive and reproduce is weaker, that is, their resilience is low. This finding, based on four major groups and more than 1.4 million people, analyzed the influence of parental age on the survival and reproductive success of offspring. These groups are from the Western population before the industrial period (1670–1850) and the Swedish population in the 20th century. In the Swedish population of the twentieth century, researchers found that parental age had little effect on the survival of the next generation, but had a negative impact on reproductive success. They believe that this is related to the latest genetic mutations that children receive from their fathers, and that this mutation will continue to increase as the father grows older. The researchers said that although there are some complex factors that cannot be controlled, the results of this survey can help predict the impact of more and more senior parents on the survival and reproduction of children in today's society.
